The Pyjama Case Girl 1978

Aging Oscar-winner Ray Milland, looking as if rigor mortis had set in some time previously, is the police inspector on the trail of a killer is this cheerfully sleazy 1977 film from Flavio Mogherini, so sleazy that you’ll probably want to have a bath afterwards. The case involves the body of a woman found burned to death of a New South Wales beach, with the storyline lifted from a real murder in the 1930’s. Within a complex flashback structure, the promiscuous life of Glenda (Dalila Di Lazzaro) is smartly unfolded, and the sexual content is racy to say the least. Throw in a few songs by Amanda Lear and you’ve got a striking example of an unknown movie with ingenious ideas and execution that shame bigger budget productions.
